new york: part one

I've been busy this summer, even busier than I expected. Still with my internships and working at a new job that I luckily got right when summer started. Anyways, I took a week off from everything and went on a family vacation to New York two weeks ago! If you follow my twitter, you probably already saw the constant spamming. It was my first time there so this trip was just a pure dream for me.

The city is overcrowded, dirty, smelly but completely charming. The fact that it is overcrowded though and the architectural mix of old and modern buildings won my heart. The amount of shops and restaurants are no doubt, insane. I did go a little crazy, okay maybe more than a little, with shopping and I'm sure my bank has been crying since. There was so much to see, so much to do and so much to explore. It was endless. I had the best time of my life in this beautiful city and I miss it already. Leaving made me extremely sad but I'm hoping to return next spring. There's just something about you New York, making us all starry-eyed and fall completely in love with you. Thank you for giving this gal such a wonderful first experience in the city and I promise we'll be seeing each other soon again.

My sister's nasty mess after the flight.

I actually never liked the taste of macarons until I tried the ones from Bouchon. It's probably because my very first one was kumquat flavored. Let's just say I will never let myself be wooed again by that worker at that market.

Was able to catch the gorgeous Manhattanhenge on May 31st. It was too surreal watching it as we were walking down the streets.

More to come!

  1. Sooooo pretty... even the smog lol! And I hope you know the person in the 14th photo because sometimes I see a girl with cute shoes or something and I snap a photo, and then my boyfriend's like '... why do you have a picture of some random person's ass on your phone?'. And i'm like 'IT'S THE SHOOOES' and he's like 'suuuure. shoes.' XD.

Sooo hungry now after seeing all those desserts... I don't think i've had a good macaron yet, they are far too expensive here for me to justify even one!

  2. I absolutely love all the photos! They were breathtaking! I only eat certain flavors of macaroons, so that I avoid the horrible event of which I eat a funky flavored one.
