For the next couple of months, I'll be sharing a series of posts about pasta! Part of a class assignment was to create a blog and I chose to do mine on one of my favorite topics in the whole wide world. The blog is called The Art of Pasta and it'll feature my little pasta adventures around town and in the kitchen, restaurant reviews, history facts and basically anything else I can think of. I'm really excited to start on this project because that means I get to devour all the pasta I want and not feel so guilty on how much I'm eating!

Celebrated New Year's Eve with dinner at Pizzicletta in Flagstaff and discovered a cute party in an art gallery after.

Thank goodness a majority of my classes are downtown this spring semester! I love this area so much more because everything I want do is within walking distance. Downtown is also filled with lots of beautiful, historic buildings and coffee shops.

I landed a new internship and the offices are in one of the loveliest spaces I've ever seen.

Katie and I headed over to Giant Coffee for a studious afternoon today. I love this place because they always put out all these pretty, fresh flowers and their drip coffee and honey vanilla latte are fantastic.

Here's a little bit of my day yesterday through Instagram. I was working since the early morning until noon and met up with Kelsey right after for tea. It was really nice to finally catch up with her and hear all about her adventures in New York! She's just so charming and silly. We also went to Essence Bakery Cafe to pick up sandwiches and macarons. I wasn't craving macarons at the time and had tiramisu instead, which was like heaven in my mouth. Macy joined us later and we all took a walk through their neighborhood to Mill Ave for some shopping.

Cheers to another marvelous new year! I wish you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve filled with lots of bubbly drinks, laughter and swanky dance moves. I went out of town and celebrated with my best gal pal Katie and her family up in Flagstaff. We spent the entire day playing in the snow, dined with jazz and pizza at the yummy Pizzicletta, ventured downtown after and rang in the new year together. I'm so unbelievably excited for 2012 and hope you are too!

I'm a really terrible blogger. I couldn't find the time this semester to update this blog at all and it makes me utterly sad. Being a full-time student, part-time worker and part-time intern took up my life completely. This semester was no doubt crazy with work-related activities but I did manage to make some time here and there to play. Good news too is that school ended and winter break is here! I need to get back into blogging because I miss how much fun it is. I changed my layout (will be adding a header later) as well and decided to delete every one of my posts except the two about my NY trip.

Saw St. Vincent live and it was beautiful, Annie Clark is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't help but get all teary when she played The Party, it's one of my favorites. My friends and I also went to eat after the show at Nachobot aka the greatest place ever.

I'm much happier now that I went back to my bob! I didn't feel like myself with long hair and I missed all the sassiness that came with it being short.

Second photo courtesy of Kelsey's Instagram. Kelsey and Macy threw a Mad Men party at their apartment and it was the best party I've ever attended. Everyone dressed up in 60s attire, there was wine and whiskey, a wonderful playlist filled with everything jazz and soul and not to mention, the girls did a wonderful job decorating their apartment with old editorials from Time magazine and candles. I met and danced the night away with the loveliest of people and wished it didn’t have to end. It was such a perfect night.

It wouldn't be a Mad Men party without the fake candy cigarettes of course.

The girls and I went to the Miniature Tigers and Tennis show just last week! It's always a dance party when Miniature Tigers play and I can't even express my love enough for the cute husband-and-wife duo Tennis.

I finally met Kelsey's cute little Oliver on Tuesday!

new york: part two

Continuing on my trip, we spent an entire day at the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art! I had a lot of fun at MoMA especially because I've always been more drawn into modern and contempory art and design. Nonetheless, I still really enjoyed the Met too and was so incredibily happy that I got to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit there! It was haunting and absolutely breathtaking. The only sad thing was photography wasn't allowed and security guards were hidden in every dark corner. Boo.

new york: part one

I've been busy this summer, even busier than I expected. Still with my internships and working at a new job that I luckily got right when summer started. Anyways, I took a week off from everything and went on a family vacation to New York two weeks ago! If you follow my twitter, you probably already saw the constant spamming. It was my first time there so this trip was just a pure dream for me.

The city is overcrowded, dirty, smelly but completely charming. The fact that it is overcrowded though and the architectural mix of old and modern buildings won my heart. The amount of shops and restaurants are no doubt, insane. I did go a little crazy, okay maybe more than a little, with shopping and I'm sure my bank has been crying since. There was so much to see, so much to do and so much to explore. It was endless. I had the best time of my life in this beautiful city and I miss it already. Leaving made me extremely sad but I'm hoping to return next spring. There's just something about you New York, making us all starry-eyed and fall completely in love with you. Thank you for giving this gal such a wonderful first experience in the city and I promise we'll be seeing each other soon again.

I actually never liked the taste of macarons until I tried the ones from Bouchon. It's probably because my very first one was kumquat flavored. Let's just say I will never let myself be wooed again by that worker at that market.

Was able to catch the gorgeous Manhattanhenge on May 31st. It was too surreal watching it as we were walking down the streets.
